Community Workshops

653332264Welcome!

I’m excited to tell you about the annual community DBT skills workshops that I offer for disadvantaged communities. These workshops are a fantastic opportunity to learn important skills to improve your life.

During the four-week in-person group, you will learn four essential skills: emotion regulation, coping with emotional crises, managing relationships effectively, and staying present with mindful awareness.

To attend the workshop, a brief screening appointment is required, which can be done in-person, by phone, or through Zoom. Please contact us to set one up.

The workshops are open to the public, with a maximum of 20 people per session.

Who should attend?

Anyone looking to make a positive change in their life is welcome. However, please note that if you are unable to commit to attending all four sessions, this workshop may not be the right fit for you.

Additionally, if you are currently dealing with active suicidal thoughts, we recommend that you also have an individual therapist in addition to attending the DBT class.

During the workshop, we will focus on four primary skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Mindfulness is the skill of present-time awareness and helps you focus on the way things are right now.

Distress tolerance teaches you how to survive intense emotions more effectively, while emotion regulation helps you change your emotional state quickly and fluidly.

Lastly, interpersonal effectiveness helps you learn how to communicate effectively, ask for what you need with confidence, and say no gracefully.

By attending these workshops, you will gain valuable skills to enhance your relationships with others and increase your self-respect.

I look forward to seeing you at our next session!
